Mod Details & Release Notes
Please be aware that this is a DEVELOPMENT VERSION!
The development version can break the game or your savegame! The development version doesn´t support the full feature package yet!
Multiplayer This version should also work in Multiplayer, but keep in mind it might have bugs.
Complete field applications quickly and efficiently with the Guidance Steering mod that helps you accurately setup tracks to work your fields. Guidance Steering allows you to use different methods in order to create tracks. The AB point method requires you to setup two points (A and B) in order to calculate the steering angle. The A+heading method simplifies this setup with only forcing you to enter the desired steering angle.
Make sure to enable Guidance Steering before you’re able to enter the menu.
Installation / Releases Currently the development version is only available via GitHub. When a official release version is avaiable you can download the latest version from the release section. Please note: if there’s no release version available it means there’s no official release yet. All official releases will be avaiable at the offical Farming Simulator ModHub.
For installing the release: Windows: Copy the FS22_guidanceSteering_dev.zip into your My Games\FarmingSimulator2022\mods directory.
Developers version To quickly build a zip of the developer version without the needed extras, use the zip.bat included in this repository. Please note: the batch file requires an installed version of 7-Zip or Winrar
To be able to use Guidance Steering you first need to buy the GPS technology for your vehicle. Either buy a new vehicle and add the GPS configuration or drive your current vehicle to a workshop and configure it.
When you buy the GPS configuration for the first time Guidance Steering is disabled. Turn Guidance Steering on and off with Alt + C .
Open the menu with Ctrl + S . Make sure that you have Guidance Steering enabled first!
The AB mode requires two points (A and B) in order to calculate the angle to generate the line. First, select the A+B method in the menu.
The A+Heading mode requires only point A and a cardinal heading to generate the line. First select the A+Heading method in the menu.
Tip: If most of your fields are North-South or East-West, create one A+Heading track and use rotate track ( Alt + End ) to rotate the track back and forth between North-South and East-West.
The A+Direction mode requires only Point A and it takes the cardinal heading from the direction the vehicle is pointing. First select the A+Direction method in the menu.
Hit Alt + R (or use the menu) to detect the width of your vehicle. Unfold and lower the vehicle to get the best results.
Hit Alt + Equals and Alt + Minus to manually change the width. Set the width increment in the menu to speed up the process.
Please note that this only works after the track creation!
If you use an implement such as a plow that is offset to one side, you can set an offset in the menu. For most implements, the offset will be detected automatically when setting the implement width. If the offset is not 0 , it will appear as a red line. Use the increment width select box (the one at the top) to set the increment and click Increment offset to offset your line. If you set the increment to negative it will flip the offset.
Shift the track left and right using Alt + Page Up and Alt + Page Down . Hold down the key to speed up shifting the track.
Realign the active track to the vehcile position using Alt + Home . It will also reset the lane counter displayed on the GPS icon.
To rotate the track 90 degrees, enter the strategy menu and hit the 90 degree button or use Alt + End .
Enable Snap terrain in the menu to help create straight lines that align with the terrain.
Once a track is created hit Alt + X to toggle guidance steering on or off. Guidance will also disengage if the vehicle is manually steered off the guidance line.
Toggle the guidance line display using Alt + L or the ‘Show lines’ setting in the menu. Change the ‘Show as dots’ setting in the menu to toggle between dotted or regular lines.
Use the ‘Headland mode’ and ‘Headland act distance’ settings to change the interaction with the headland. When Headland mode is set to Stop , the vehicle will stop at the set interaction distance from the edge of the field. When set to Off the vehicle will only warn you with an audible beep at the set interaction distance and will continue driving.
Store and load tracks using the second page in the menu. This is also an easy way to share track data with other players in multiplayer. There an option to save tracks per farm, this means that the track will only be available for farm that owns the vehicle. When this settings is turned off the track is accessible to everyone.
On base game John Deere vehicles the StarFire™ GPS receiver visibility is toggled on when you buy the GPS system. If you want the same effect on your mod vehicles you can add the configuration y

What features players want to be included in FS22?
Farming Simulator fans were asked what features they want to see added to the new FS22. Here’s what they said: At the moment, people with different devices cannot play FS together, meaning Xbox players can only play with other Xbox players and the same goes for Playstation and PC owners. Having a crossplay feature would definitely improve the overall experience of the game. There are examples showing that this kind of feature is totally possible, like Fortnite and Rocket League. Will we see this feature in the FS22? We don’t know, but it would be cool! There can never be too many improvements to the game. With FS19, a lot of new features were introduced, but there’s still a lot of things missing. A better mod menu and a search function would certainly be welcome improvements. Other than that, the players would like to be able to fasten the vehicles onto the low loader. The construction tool could also use some improving and the vehicle physics could be more realistic. The selection of placeable objects designs for the courtyard could also be expanded. These may seem like small improvements, but together they would enhance gameplay a lot. In the Farming Simulator, you have to buy your vehicles, machinery and equipment new. While there are a lot of real farmers in the world who can afford to always buy new machinery, not all of them can do that. In reality, lots of farmers buy used farming equipment. If your bank account in FS is not looking too good, you should be able to purchase used machinery. A second-hand tractor could have rust or worn seats, but it’d be cheaper and still get the job done. It would also be interesting if the Farming Simulator allowed you to change tires. It would bring a whole new experience to the game! In the FS19, if you plow and fertilize your fields according to rules and regulations, a fruitful harvest should be a guarantee. However, in reality, animals like moles often ruin the harvest. The players said that they would like to see wild boar or deer in the forest or in the field ever so often. This sort of change would not only lead to a more realistic world but also improve the overall appearance of the game. In the FS19, you can do quite a lot with trees, like plant them, sow them off, chop them. While the game is focused on agriculture, there’s a surprising amount of things you can do with wood. However, there’s still some room for improvement as not much advancements have been made since FS15 in forestry. It would be cool if you could drive your jeep on muddy roads in the forest and then mark the trees you want to cut. The vehicles in the FS19 look good and have lots of configurations, but if you compare it to real vehicles, there’s still so much to improve in the game. The players would like to see a GPS function which would allow tractors and other machinery to be driven over the field precisely. Other than that, what would also be cool is actual usable buttons, manual coupling, license plates that you can change, a passenger feature, and adjustable seat heights. Sure, not everything on this list is easy to implement, especially on consoles, but some of these features have been requested by players so much that perhaps something could be done! In the Farming Simulator so far, you’d have to drive to the sales station with the best price after your harvest. In the station, the harvest is quickly unloaded and you instantly get the money. That might seem like it’s enough, but in reality it would be more interesting if the process would be more intricate. Players would like to see a traffic jam in front of the mill, document checking, or even taking grain samples before selling the harvest. There could be improvements related to pricing as well, for example, a price change depending on supply. If the season was good and everything went smoothly, the crops would be cheaper; if the season was harsh with rain and storms leading to a smaller amount of crops, the price would increase. Imagine the new possibilities this would offer to the FS22! You would have to manage your money strategically, sign contracts for stable prices and more. No other improvement has been requested more often than more mods on consoles. The challenge of implementation definitely falls on the shoulders of GIANTS because it’s not the FS developers who are responsible for mod restrictions. In this case, Sony and Microsoft are to blame – they do not allow script modifications. Sadly, this means that console players miss out on a lot of interesting and useful mods. What console players have are mods without scripts that are released via Modhub. And even if the restrictions on the consoles are not lifted, there’s still something developers at GIANTS could do. Modders often say that it’s not easy to publish mods via Modhub. If the players manage to get this message to the GIANTS, maybe at least a few more mods will make it onto the consoles. But we wouldn’t be too optimistic about the change in script rest
