Realistic growth for Western Canada. v2.0 Added fall planting. Now if you plant wheat, barley,or canola in September or October you can harvest the following year in August through October. If you plant in November harvest is available in September and October. Sorghum planting in October will be able to harvest the following September and October. Added An extra month to spring planting for corn and some changes to harvest for other crops while maintaining some variety in times. Changed the initial states so if the crop can be harvested in August it will be ready to harvest. Tested all crops to make sure they can be harvested when harvest season weather spring or fall planted and all looked good. No adjustments to grapes, olives, poplar, grass or radish. The AI doesn’t plant every field in year 2 but the crops still follow the proper planting and harvest cycles. Tags: Western Canada
I edited environment.xml file to simulate the weather in Finland (or Skandinavia). Following things have been done: temperatures chance for sunny/cloudy/rainy weather now there is a small chance of snowing in the spring and autumn wind speed and direction duration of the rain etc. drop scales (minor changes) Note ! This is not a normal mod, you have to overwrite an existing .xml file in the map folder or in the mods .zip file Always make a backup of the file you’ll replace with this. Installation: Go to the map-folder you want to change; for example: D:\Farming Simulator 2022\data\maps\mapUS rename the environment.xml to default_environment.xml (or make a backup elsewhere) copy and paste my environment.xml file to the same map folder if you want to change the weather in a custom map, go to your mods folder for example: C:\Users\John Doe\Documents\My Games\FarmingSimulator2022\mods and open the mod file (like FS22_Kuusela.zip) open the map folder and add my environment.xml file Tags: Finland
Realistic growth for Western Canada. No winter planting though, conflicted with the spring planting/harvest. Sugarcane and Cotton added so they’re available if you want, though not 100% realistic. No adjustments to grapes, olives, poplar, grass or radish. In a new game starting August most fields are in final growth stage and in September harvest. For the following year you will be able to harvest most crops starting in August. The AI doesn’t plant every field in year 2 but the crops still follow the proper planting and harvest cycles. For steam, inside steam apps>common>farming simulator22>data>maps Make a copy of your maps_growth xml and keep that aside. Place my maps_growth xml in there This should work with a game that’s already started or a new save, just keep in mind your current game may have a crop flip to a different stage. For example I planted wheat with the base game growth in October, loaded my growth xml and now I had to wait until August to harvest but it did work fine. Tags: Western Canada

An XML to turn winter wheat into summer wheat This XML is for future maps on which there should not only be winter wheat, barley and rape, but also or alternatively the summer wheat, barley and rape.
Choo-choo – do you hear that? Oh boy, it’s the good-news-train, entering the railway station to unload some exciting announcements: Farming Simulator 22 is at the finishing line of development before it releases next month. But, that’s not the motherload of today’s news. As you provided us with feedback over the last couple of weeks and months in response to our announcements and footage, our attentive community department steadily talked to our busy developers to implement various adjustments and improvements to the game. Here are some changes we made in the last couple of weeks. Good thing, a month consists of at least 28 days, right? RIGHT? Yeah… When we first introduced seasonal cycles coming to Farming Simulator 22, a virtual year was supposed to consist of twelve days. Meaning, each day in-game would be the equivalent of a month. Our goal was, and still is, to find a balance of challenging and relaxing gameplay-mechanics that work for as many players as possible, regardless of their experience. For a lot of you… seasoned farmers, the duration of a year wasn’t as appealing as we hoped, even though players will be able to decrease the speed of time in-game even further than before. The challenge we were now facing was to implement the option to customize the length of the seasons. Why is that a challenge? In game development, there is a massive amount of dependencies with even the tiniest change. It’s literally the risk of a butterfly effect that sticks to everything. That’s especially true for seasonal length connected to various affected gameplay-mechanics that might break and need to be compatible – as we can’t release a game with potential errors produced by our mechanics that, in the worst case, corrupts save games. Long story short: Longer seasons. You can increase the length of a month up to 28 days. Yes, each MONTH can consist of 28 days. Changes take effect after the current season is completed. While gameplay programmers focus on gameplay mechanics and work on the gameplay side during the whole course of development, our tech guys do the same on their end. Meaning, the graphics still evolve between showing the first screenshot or trailer and the release of the game. Of course, we also take your feedback under consideration until the last pixel is considered final. Between the months-old game build we’ve shown at gamescom, for example, and the version we’re going to release in a few weeks, a lot of graphical aspects, and therefore the visual appearance, have changed. We got a lot of feedback on the aesthetics of Farming Simulator 22, and incorporated some changes while working on already planned improvements. We improved the level of detail of foliage to guarantee more beautiful transitions between colors. We fine-tuned Screen Space Ambient Occlusion (SSAO) to create more natural shadows – resulting in more natural-looking surroundings. And, we modified the color grading to achieve an overall, more realistic and atmospheric feel. Long story short: Improved various graphical aspects, looks nice. Sorghum, or milo, is an important crop, becoming even more important in recent years, in warm climates. That’s why it’s considered a welcome addition by our American players and a predestined crop to sow on our US-Midwestern map, Elmcreek. Of course, our more Mediterranean-inspired map Haut-Beyleron also benefits from having sorghum available to grow. As our sorghum farmers all around the world noticed, the process of harvesting sorghum wasn’t quite accurate in the early version of Farming Simulator 22. Long straw cut short: Only the top of the fruit gets cut off when harvesting, now. We hope you like our recent changes to Farming Simulator 22. Thank you for your feedback! We also hope you are as excited about the launch in a couple of weeks as we are. Also, there’s more news coming up. Stay tuned! Tags: Farming Simulator 22 FS22 MONTH RIGHT

In Farming Simulator 22, you need to prepare for Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. If you don’t, you’ll see your valuable crops wither away. That is, if you choose to play with seasonal cycles enabled, of course. Today, we show you more of the new feature and invite you to watch our FarmCon presentation in case you missed it. Want to know more about FarmCon and recent news from our community event? We’ll provide more info in our summary! Here’s Gameplay Developer Jos Kuijpers from GIANTS Software providing you with an introduction of the seasonal changes in the game: Let’s take a look at the most obvious change: the visuals. Since we showed you the four seasons in Farming Simulator 22 last time, we updated the visual appearance of various assets in the game. The tint of trees, grass and bushes is more homogeneous now. We updated the general game graphics, too (and we’re still working on it) – so, you’ll notice more detail here and there. Reflections on water, for example. Whether you look at season-specific aesthetics or not, nature looks more natural. Since each season comes with its own characteristics, the atmosphere changes quite a bit throughout the year. In spring, trees start to grow their leaves in vibrant colors. They mature into lush green trees in summer. Take a look: In Fall, the color pallet changes – the atmosphere turns a bit melancholic before everything will be covered in a thick layer of snow when winter comes around. Here and there, it even gets icy. We recommend paying the waterfall a visit to enjoy a cave-like place of solitude, riddled with icicles. But we won’t spoil it for you, right now! By implementing seasonal cycles, we added a new level of gameplay to Farming Simulator 22. It’s not just a visual thing. Unless you want it to be. In this case, you deactivate “seasonal growth”, so you plant and harvest your crops independently of the season. The seasons in-game are divided into months. A year consists of twelve days. Meaning, each day in-game is the equivalent of a month. Using the timescale control, it is up to you how fast the days pass. Basically, a season can range from half an hour of playtime up to a long weekend. If you still want to keep the seasonal charm of running a farm in the middle of winter – go ahead. You can turn off snow separately if you want. As usual, the new feature can be deactivated, so you have more control of your gameplay experience. Do you want the full experience, including seasonal cycles with impact on gameplay? You’ll have to take a look at the new crop calendar, then! The calendar provides an important overview and tells you when you have to plant your crops, and when to harvest if seasonal growth is activated. Take the new crops, for example: Grapes and olives have to be planted from March to June. Harvest season for grapes starts in September and last until the end of October. Olives, though, you have to harvest in the month of October. Sorghum, the third new crop in Farming Simulator 22, needs to be sown from April to May. It’ll be ready to harvest from August to September. You also have to bear in mind that the demand for your crops, and therefore the selling prices, change throughout the year. To get the best price, you will have to store your harvested crops and sell them when the demand is high due to the season. As you can imagine, snow covering your farmlands requires more actions from you. There’s some snow plowing needed to get rid of the snow and keep your roads and yards clear. Also, you have to plan ahead if animal husbandry is part of your farming operation. Store enough food for the winter! If you don’t like to shovel loads of snow and don’t possess any animals, you might think about starting production chains. If you have the resources available, you can deliver them to various production halls to produce goods. You might even get into the hauling business to transport all the crops and goods to the next link in a production chain. Remember, you can start multiple production chains at once. As you can see, there’s still a lot to do in winter. Farming Simulator 22 will release on November 22nd for PC, Mac, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and Stadia. Farming Simulator 22 has announced that Seasons will be a part of the game. What does it mean? The Seasons Mod should be known to every LS17 and LS19 player, but Giants Software integrated its own version of the well-known Seasons Mod in the Farming Simulator 22, which differs from the Mod, this can be particularly interpreted with the answer – “It is more seasons than the classic Seasons Mod ”. It could be (as was already expected) a kind of “Seasons light” to address the complex gameplay of the Seasons Mod for all target groups such as core & hardcore players. In the interview, Lisertan also said that, as in the previous versions of the Farming Simulator, it might be possible to deactivate individual functions. This Seasons mod will help you make your game much more exciting and real. Actually, if you remember, this particular mod was the winner of the Farming Simulator 17 mods competition and has been among the top FS17 mods. It is very much an exciting mod to be waiting for by the community and the new version is really going to be loved by all the fans! It was a mod for Farming Simulator 19. Because of the season changes that it adds to the game, this mod makes your whole game feel more real. You will need to adapt your whole farming life cycle according to each season, which will definitely teach you how to be a better farmer and player in the game. What this mod actually does is imitates the different seasons of the year. So, not only the weather is changing accordingly, but also the mods can switch up crops prices, the behavior of your animals, maintenance of your machinery, and harvesting cycle. The main goal of this mod is that you feel like a true farmer and actually start to think like a real one too because weather actually is a very big factor in how successful your farming will be. Like other mods, Seasons mod was free of charge and you can download it on the official modhub of Giants. Farming Simulator 22 will finally bring us four Seasons as a part of the game for free. Yes, this mode will be integrated into a basic Farming Simulator 22 game version which will come to PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Seasons mod was created by Realismus Modding – a team of five developers. This mod was so good and successful that the first version of it won an award in Farming Simulator 17 modding competition. The team is made up of five amazing guys Per (mrbear) , Jos (Rahkiin) , Per (reallogger) , Sebastian (theSeb) , Stijn (Wopster). All of them were the winners of the modding contest in 2017 with then their first version Season 17. Are you excited to try out Seasons? We will bring you all the guidelines that you need to try it out yourself. This particular mod, Seasons mod, should be installed to the engine of the Farming Simulator. That is the reason why there might be some conflicts between mods if another one with similar functionality to Seasons is installed. So, in order to avoid this situation, have a good look at your mod folder. If you want to do the following things, we suggest you remove your mods: As soon as you make sure that those kinds of mods are removed from your mods folder, you can finally begin the game with Seasons. Alternatively, you can choose to create a new mods folder: Right-click on your mods folder and press F2. Switch the name of the folder to for example “ModsPause” or any other name that works for you. Create a new folder and call it “mods” (make sure to have all letters in lowercase and check your spelling!) Now copy the Seasons mod, all your other mods, and maps that you would like to use, and paste it to the new folder. Think Transitions If you want to really get how Seasons work in the game, just imagine real life and how seasons work. It’s all about transitioning from one to the other. And each season transits three times. Just take a look at the menu of the mod – HUD (Alt + S – L1 + Options on consoles) and you will be able to view all the transitions. So, if we calculate that there are four seasons in total, then you will have 12 transitions. That is the best time for you, your harvest grows during that time. Season Length The four seasons that you’re going to have are inevitable, that is the rule of the game. But if you want, you can modify the duration of each season. If you want to do that just click on the Seasons menu (Alt + S (L1 + Options on consoles)). The duration of the season can be from 3 to 24 in-game days. Therefore, if we calculate this for you, let’s say you want your season to last only for 3 days, then each day you will have a transition. In this instance your whole year will only be 12 days long. So, if you want the season to be 24 days, then in that instance you will experience transitions every 8 days. A whole year then would be like 96 in-game days. The table below will help you to calculate all the season lengths: Some tips: You need to check out the lengths of seasons
